HOUSING & EDUCATION ALLIANCE A HUD Certified Housing Counseling Agency Presents Homeownership Retention Club H.R.C.
Purpose: The intent of the Homeownership Retention Club is to provide a local source of counseling and support for homeowners who may be facing some level of mortgage distress. Whether they foresee the possibility of difficulty or they are already in receipt of a mortgage default letter from their lender, they can participate in the process. The concept of the “Club” will be to provide support, clarification, options, and resources from both the counseling agency and mortgage companies for “refinancing” options with Fannie Mae, FHA, Freddie Mac or other conventional mortgage programs. Method of implementation: Initial access to the Club will be through large group activity classroom style to be known as “Overview of Foreclosure Prevention”. The class will serve to provide an overview of typical options available to most people facing foreclosure. An offer of additional one-on-one counseling will be made available to class , and they will be given information as to the components of membership in the Club. Club Members will have access to one-on-one counseling and regular events. Time Frame: The initial Overview of Foreclosure Prevention Class will be held over four (4) hours. This may allow an initial review of documents and situations as well as an explanation of the full club membership, how they move through the components, and how they may enroll in the Club.
